Fellows Spotlight | Ama Amzat!
The fellowship experience through Circle City Fellows gives Fellows a structured environment to learn about how their work is meaningful to the Mission of God and to the flourishing of the City of Indianapolis (and beyond). During nine months, Fellows create deep connections with their peers, focus on building spiritual and professional practices, and create tangible ways in which they can impact their place of work.
Originally from Charlotte, NC, Ama came to Indiana for college and hasn’t left yet. Currently, she works for Develop Indy at the Chamber of Commerce. She learned about Circle City Fellows from two coworkers at the Chamber, Braxton and Susannah, who were both Fellows in our Class of 2024.
In her spare time, Ama runs an AirBnB and loves watching shows on AppleTV. She loves a good dessert and dedicated this year to reading the Bible in its entirety, using the Bible in One Year podcast as a guide.
We’re thrilled to welcome Ama to Circle City Fellows!
Here’s some of what she said about what she’s anticipating in the fellowship this year:
Why are you interested in being a Fellow with CCF?
My primary interest is finding a place of community that is rooted in faith (but also professional development). A safe place to nurture and express my faith. I also like the guidance that comes with fellowship. So many parts of the Bible stress the importance of finding good counsel and I don't think I have that yet.
What do you hope to gain from the program?
I believe that when we immerse ourselves in things that glorify God, He gives us new graces. I believe this is an opportunity for such growth and to build community. I'm not sure what that growth is yet but I know He is calling me here for a reason. I also believe this will be an opportunity to reflect on my career thus far and hopefully come up with new steps to incorporate in my daily life so I can show up better at work.
Our mission is to help adults of faith come to see how their work matters to God and is an important part of Indianapolis’ flourishing. We’re so happy to have Ama as part of our fellowship class this year!
