Fellows Spotlight | Steven Apple

The fellowship experience through Circle City Fellows gives Fellows a structured environment to learn about how their work is meaningful to the Mission of God and to the flourishing of the City of Indianapolis (and beyond). During nine months, Fellows create deep connections with their peers, focus on building spiritual and professional practices, and create tangible ways in which they can impact their place of work. HOW DID YOU HEAR ABOUT THE FELLOWSHIP EXPERIENCE WITH CCF?

Through David Bell

I DECIDED TO DO THE CCF FELLOWSHIP BECAUSE...

I decided to participate in the CCF Fellowship because I feel there is a way that my work can contribute to the Kingdom of God and to restoring different broken places in the city. I want to learn more about myself and how I can contribute to fixing these areas.

CCF EXISTS TO HELP YOUNG PROFESSIONALS SEE HOW THEIR WORK MATTERS TO GOD AND HOW IT IS IMPORTANT TO HIS MISSION FOR THE WORLD. IS THIS SOMETHING YOUR FAMILY OR CHURCH TAUGHT YOU GROWING UP?

I believe that it was taught, but was not a highlighted as the most important aspect of a Christian Life.

IN YOUR CURRENT WORK, (WHETHER THAT BE WORKING FULL TIME/PART TIME, GOING TO SCHOOL, OR RAISING CHILDREN) HOW DO YOU SEE THE MISSION OF GOD AT WORK?

I think that it is easy to see the brokenness and the need for fixing, but figuring out how to implement the mission can be harder to pinpoint at times.

THE FELLOWSHIP CONSISTS OF READING ARTICLES, PARTICIPATING IN COHORT DISCUSSIONS, MONTHLY SPIRITUAL DISCIPLINES, ATTENDING SATURDAY FORUMS THAT FOCUS ON THE CITY OF INDIANAPOLIS, AND A COUPLE OF PROJECTS THAT WILL GROW YOU IN YOUR PROFESSIONAL AND PERSONAL LIFE. WHICH OF THESE ARE YOU MOST LOOKING FORWARD TO AND WHY?

I think that the cohort discussions, Saturday forums, and personal/professional projects are what I am most looking forward to. I think that they all touch on an aspect of what bettering myself, learning about the city that I work in on a deeper level, and being able to learn from others that may have similar or differing viewpoints than my own.

BY THE END OF THE FELLOWSHIP, I HOPE TO HAVE…

By the end of the Fellowship, I hope to have a better understanding of God's mission for my work and how I can contribute to it on a daily basis.
